Welcome to the official website of The SumoKids Foundation and The SumoKids School Program.
In these difficult and often frightening times, The SumoKids Foundation offers a positive influence and perspective for the youth of today. Through our SumoKids School Program, we offer an innovative initiative that uses the tenets of Sumo Wrestling and mixes them with art and entertainment to help foster personal growth and achievement. Embracing both tradition and the most current educational techniques, we provide core community values in a program that is fun and exciting for students, teachers and the greater community.
Our pre-pilot program, conducted at Highgate Heights Elementary School throughout the 2004-2005 school year, exceeded all of our expectations. Students thrived in our fun, positive and supportive environment and teachers and parents were thrilled with the results. Everyone's had very positive things to say about The SumoKids School Program.
In the face of such enthusiasm, we are beginning to expand our reach. The SumoKids School Program will be offered to middle grades in the upcoming school year. With your support, we hope to expand this offer to all grade levels in the future.
