SumoKids' People Profiles

Henry Chapman III

Henry Chapman III is the Master Coach of the SumoKids Foundation. With his deep connections to Sumo and the Martial Arts, his warm personality and encouraging instruction methods, Henry quickly became adored by the SumoKids pre-pilot students.

Holding Masters in Sumo and Isshin-ryu and a black belt in combat Jiu-jitsu, Henry has delivered a number of special training programs (W.I.T.S. Security Personnel Training - Urban Survival Arts, S.A.F.E. Women's' Safety Awareness and M.A.G.I.K. Martial Arts for Guidance, Inspiration and Knowledge) under his own business, WITS - Wise Intervention Training Systems.

Henry joined Charles Bray as a coach during Bray's 12 years of Sumo demonstrations. It was here that he learned the needs for a program that could reach out to young people. Soon after, Henry joined Charles in the new SumoKids Foundation.

An effortless teacher, Henry embodies the self discipline and honor of a Sumo master. As such, he is an eloquent and inspiring speaker on the SumoKids programs.
